The Equestrian Order Of The Holy Sepulchre Of Jesusalem – ‘Delegazione Gozo’, was invited by the Pope Saint John Paul II Cultural Foundation, known as the JP2 FOUNDATION, to participate in the Liturgical Feast of Saint John Paul II, held at the Fontana Parish Church, dedicated to of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The main Concelebrant was H.E. Monsignor Savio Hon Tal-Fai, the Apostolic Nuncio for Malta.
Our presence was very much appreciated by JP2 FOUNDATION, the Apostolic Nuncio as well as the Fontana Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Can. Simon Cachia.
It is worth mentioning that this was the first time that the Lieutenancy of Malta, officially took part in two separate Church events at the same time, in Malta at St. Paul’s Collegiate Church, Valletta, and in Gozo at the Fontana Parish Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Our Order had the honour of receiving an invitation to participate in the Pilgrimage for Peace at Our Lady of Victories Basilica in Senglea. The celebration began with a solemn Mass, followed by a pilgrimage with the statue of Our Lady of the Rosary to the Annunciation Church in Vittoriosa. This pilgrimage culminated with a Sacramental Blessing.

The Gozo Delegation took part in the Feast of Our Lady of Good Health in the town of Qala, Gozo. Celebrations commenced with a procession along the Miraculous painting depicting the Image of the Immaculate Conception, proceeding towards the Archpriestal Church of St. Joseph in Qala. This year marks its 150th anniversary since being established as a parish. Mass was celebrated by Monsignor Edward Xuereb, the Archpriest of Qala.
This was the first event in which the Gozo Delegation participated after its inauguration at Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary by His Eminence Cardinal Mario Grech on the 17th August 2023.
