Members from our Lieutenancy took part in the Solemn Translation with the relic of Our Lady from the Chapel of Adoration back to the Parish Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel of Balluta. The ceremony was led by the Very Rev. Provincial Father Joe Saliba O.Carm. Afterwards, the First Solemn Vespers was sung and the Sacramental Blessing was given. The ceremony was followed by a mass led by His Excellency Joseph Galea-Curmi, Auxiliary Bishop and Vicar General. At the end of the mass the Most Reverend Prior and Parish Priest Father Renald Lofreda O.Carm, presented a book about Saint Titus Brandsma to the Bishop and to our members.

Our Lieutenant, Roberto Buontempo, together with the Secretary, Comm Christopher Busuttil Delbridge, participated during the Vigil and Investiture Ceremony of the Lieutenancy of Ireland, in the Pontifical University College, Maynooth, County Kildare, on Saturday 23rd July 2022

The Grand Prior of Ireland Cardinal Sean Brady, performed the investitures, whereas the Vigil Ceremony was presided by Bishop William Shomali, Vicar General of Jerusalém.

Holy Mass after the Solemn Investiture was celebrated by Archbishop Eamon Martin, Primate of All Ireland assisted by Bishop of Kildare and Leighlin, Denis Nulty and Bishop Shomali.

The Members of the Maltese Lieutenancy wholeheartedly congratulate the new members and those promoted.

On Thursday 7th July the Lieutenancy of Malta held its 27th Annual General Meeting at the Archbishop’s Palace in Valletta. The meeting was presided by the Lieutenant, Roberto Buontempo and was very well attended by our members and postulants. A presentation was held regarding the projects supported financially by our Lieutenancy through the Latin Patriarchate in the Holy Land. Furthermore the 2023 date for the pilgrimage to the Holy Land was officially announced. The AGM was followed by refreshments at our headquarters in Valletta.

2nd July 2022

Members of our Order took part during the Solemn Translation with the relic of St Paul during the Feast of St Paul at the Collegiate Basilica of Rabat, Malta. Council members Comm. Chris Busuttil Delbridge and Comm. Euchar Mizzi, Secretary and Vice Chancellor respectively, were present together with Chev Carmel Zammit Gatt. The function was led by the Very Rev. Can Claude Mifsud.

One of our members Chev. Emmanuel Cutajar, represented our Order by holding the umbrella for the Holy Sacrament during the procession of the Sanctuary of the Sacred Heart of Jesus at Haz-Zebbug.

Mr Cutajar was personally invited by the rector of the Sanctuary Mgr Vincent Cachia to take part.
