Rome visit

Our Lieutenant Roberto Buontempo, accompanied by the Lay MC Michael Pace Ross, visited Rome during the week 23-30 April. A number of courtesy visits were conducted, amongst others to the Cardinal Grand Master Fernando Filoni, the Secretary General of the Synod of Bishops Cardinal Mario Grech, the Cardinal Grand Master Emeritus Edwin O’Brien and the Governor General Leonardo Visconti di Modrone. They also attended a Conference organized by Rome Reports and CARF (Centro Academico Romano Fundacion) on the invitation of Antonio Olivie, Director Rome Reports. This took place at the Order’s Headquarters, Palazzo della Rovere; a true gem. During this time they had time to meet with various members of the Grand Magisterium and high offices of the Order.Our work never stops!

Solemn Mass of the Risen Lord

Members of our Order participated during a Solemn Mass of the Risen Lord, held at the Church of the Circumcision of Our Lord, better known as the Jesuits Church in Valletta. Rev Can David Cilia, Archpriest of Valletta’s Collegiate Parish Church of St Paul’s Shipwreck, presided over the service, assisted by our Archivist, Rev Can Kt Nicholas Doublet. The function was well attended by members of the council, members and postulants, led by our Lieutenant, Roberto Buontempo.

Wednesday of Darkness

A group photo taken at the historic church of St.Lawrence in the medieval city of Vittoriosa Malta. This preceded the Holy Week penitential procession that used to be known as The Black Procession on account of the fact that it was held on what is known in Malta as the Wednesday of Darkness from the Italian “Mercoledi Delle Tenebre”. Council members, members and postulants, led by our Lieutenant Roberto Buontempo, participated on the invitation of Archpriest Can Carmelo Busuttil.

Papal mass in Malta

Papal Mass His Holiness Pope Francis presided at a Mass held at the Floriana Granaries last Sunday, where members of our Council led by our Lieutenant Roberto Buontempo were invited to participate and represent our Order along members of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. Earlier in the day other members of our Order were positioned in front of our Ta’ Doni church early to greet Pope Francis as he parted from Rabat.May the Peace of the Lord, be always with Him.
