Our Order was invited by Rev. Ramon Farrugia OFM, Guardian of the Ta’ Ġieżu Church, Valletta, to participate in the Feast of St. Anthony of Padua, Patron Saint of the Custodia of the Holy Land. The Mass was celebrated by Father Provincial and Commissioner of the Holy Land, Rev. Kt. Comm. Fr Anthony Chircop OFM.
This year, our long-standing tradition of sponsoring the oil and flowers for St. Anthony’s altar took on special significance. We had the privilege of presenting our standard to St. Anthony, the patron saint of the Franciscans. This standard will now be a permanent fixture next to St. Anthony’s altar at Ta’ Ġieżu Church, symbolizing our devotion and commitment.
This marks our second such presentation, following the placement of our standard at the altar of Christ the Redeemer in Senglea a few years ago.
