It-Tama fl-Iskrittura Mqaddsa – Symposium for the Jubilee. Basilica of the Nativity of Mary, Senglea

Members of our Order, led by Amb. Roberto Buontempo, came together for a truly meaningful event held at the beautiful Basilica of Senglea. The evening began with a solemn procession, followed by Holy Mass, and a thought-provoking symposium titled “It-Tama fl-Iskrittura Mqaddsa” (Hope in the Holy Bible), delivered by Dr Joseph Ciappara.

The reflection closed with a moment of silence, meditation, and guided prayers, allowing us to truly internalise the message of hope in Scripture. We ended the evening with joyful fellowship over pizza and pasta at Il-Pirata , a perfect close to a spiritually enriching gathering.

Visit to a Primary School in Vittoriosa

Vittoriosa

On the invitation of Chev. Stefan Azzopardi, Head of School, our Lieutenant Amb. Roberto Buontempo, accompanied by Dame Dr Gloria Montebello and Chev. Dr Jake Azzopardi, visited SMC Santu Rokku Primary School in Vittoriosa, where they had the opportunity to meet with the school’s educators and staff.

Arguably two of the youngest members globally, Dr Azzopardi and Dr Montebello shared their experiences with the older students and their educators. They took this opportunity to explain about the role of the Knight and Dame in modern times focusing on the works and aims of Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.

Following the session, Ambassador Buontempo presented a token of appreciation to commemorate the event to the school administration.

Lenten Retreat – Manresa House, Gozo

Members and families of our Lieutenancy gathered for the annual Lenten Retreat, held for the first time in Gozo. A significant number of attendees participated in this spiritual reflection, led by our Lieutenant, Amb. Roberto Buontempo.

The retreat was preached by Rev. Mgr. Lawrence Sciberras, a leading Biblical scholar.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Jesuit Community at Manresa House, as well as to the Gozo Delegate, Comm. Euchar Mizzi, and Prior, Rev. Mgr. John Muscat, for their support and hospitality.

This enriching experience was made possible through the dedication of the Spirituality Commission.

May this Lenten season continue to be a time of grace and renewal for us all.
