Yesterday a delegation of council members had the honour of accompanying H.E. Amb. Roberto Buontempo to the Archbishop’s Palace in Valletta to exchange Christmas greetings with His Grace Mgr. Charles J. Scicluna, Archbishop of Malta and Grand Prior of the Maltese Lieutenancy, as well as His Excellency Mgr. Joseph Galea-Curmi, Auxiliary Bishop of Malta.

A moment of reflection and joy, celebrating the true essence of Christmas—peace, unity, and shared blessings.

The Maltese Lieutenancy celebrated a beautiful Christmas Mass at the Archbishop’s Curia Manresa Chapel, followed by a reception in the historic refectory. The event, organized jointly by the Spiritual and Events Commissions, was celebrated by ecclesiastical member, Rev. Can. Joseph Cardona. It was a joyous occasion, well-attended by members of the Council, members, families and friends.

May the spirit of Christmas fill your hearts with peace, love, and joy, and may the blessings of this Holy season be with you throughout the year.

On the 13th of December, we were privileged to attend the beautiful Christmas Concert at St. Mark’s Augustinian Church in Rabat, in support of children’s hospitals in the Holy Land. This special event aimed to raise funds for the Eye Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem and the Holy Family Maternity Hospital in Bethlehem.

The concert was attended by our Lieutenant H.E. Amb Roberto Buontempo, Augustinian Fr. Provincial Fr Leslie Gatt, and the Mayor of Rabat, Mr. Sandro Craus. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who attended and contributed to this meaningful cause.

The concert was made possible through the generous support of the Maltese Lieutenancy of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre, St. John Ambulance and Rescue Malta, and the Augustinian Community of Rabat.

A special thank you to Dame Dr. Lydia Buttigieg for her exceptional musical direction, and to Dame Ina Cassar and Knight Grand Officer Ray Cassar for their dedication to organizing this unforgettable evening.

We were honoured to participate in the solemn investiture ceremonies of the Italian Centrale Appenninica Lieutenancy, held in the sacred surroundings of the Lower and Upper Basilica of St. Francis in Assisi.

The ceremonies were presided over by our Cardinal Grand Master. The Maltese delegation, led by our Lieutenant Roberto Buontempo, included Secretary Dame Amy Sciberras and Council Member Ray Cassar, accompanied by their respective spouses.
